DREAM, SET GOALS, PLAN, EXECUTE

I love to coach.  Absolutely adore it.  It requires both sides of the brain and the use of multiple types of intelligences.  Effective coaches must have a deep dedication to and passion for the ultimate success of those he or she coaches.  Coaches care about, and are measured by, their results.  The best coaches make an impact, and are impacted by the people he or she coaches.  That is inevitable.

THE PG REMBRANDT COACHING PROCESS

In simplest terms, we divide our Business Coaching process into two parts:

  1. Create a Plan
  2. Execute that Plan

Now, obviously, the details get a bit more complicated.  So let’s get more granular.

We follow this process with EVERY client.

DEFINE YOUR DESIRED END-STATE

You begin by dreaming and hoping to improve things – to grow your business, to find more time outside of work, to gain more control over your business, to build an asset you can sell or pass on to family, whatever.  This is a good place to begin!  All ambition and achievement begin here.

What we need you to do during this stage is be specific.  What exactly do you want your business and life to look like?  Describe your desired End-State in some detail.  Look at that End-State from different angles and write down bullet points for each angle.

When you go back and look at your End-State description, it should always make you smile.  In fact, we may, if you choose, create an artistic rendition of your End-State, to express it in the most beautiful, energizing manner possible.

SET SPECIFIC TIME-BOUND GOALS

By what specific date on an actual calendar do you want to achieve your End-State?

With that in mind, we then identify and prioritize the big intermediary goals between your current state and where you want to get to.  These goals should, in and of themselves, excite you.  We describe each one of these goals in detail and then stick them on the calendar.  As with the End-State, it can be helpful to create some kind of fun visual reminder of your goals that, without fail, puts you back “on vision.”

This is where the list of Coaching Modules can come in handy.  There were many times when I knew where I wanted to get to, but not how to get there.  I didn’t know what I didn’t know.  THIS IS WHY PG REMBRANDT EXISTS!  The Coaching Modules are designed to fill in some of those “awareness gaps.”

CREATE A PLAN ASSIGNING WHO, WHAT, WHEN

Now we get specific.  Here is where your dream gets real.

The Plan here is an ACTION Plan, where we identify specific tasks, assign those tasks to specific people, and set specific completion and review dates.

ENCOURAGE, FOLLOW-UP AND EXECUTE WITH STYLE

If most of all tasks here are owned by the client, it is important that we identify the person getting the tasks done and when sacred “build the business” time will be set aside for that person.

Our job is to encourage and follow-up kindly, creatively, and tactfully on the assigned tasks.  Here is where your solemn commitment to execution is vital.  Of course we understand that emergencies happen, but they should be the exception.

As with everything in your business, beauty and style matter with your (and our) deliverables.

Finally, you achieve your goals, you simply must celebrate!
